hey ive just recently f##ked up my tape backup unit by flashign the wrong bios to it, im a f##king fool !

my problem is i cant flash what i believe to be the right bios to it as the wong bios has a different checksum (model number). the flashing tool doesnt have a force option so i can force it to flash this bios either. the tape is able to be detected and all but its just got the wrong bios for a model slightly different (manual loading instead of auto)

does anyone know how to change the checksum number of a bios and could they do this for me or explain how in very simple instructions or can guide me where to go and who to ask ?

the link to download the bios is

http://www.tecmar.com/download/firmware/267FLASH.EXE
(thats a self extracting zip file)

the checksum of the bios is 0xc243 and id liek to have it changed to 0x0b46.

if anyone can help me id be forever greatful as tape drives are expensive !

thanks

p.s wasnt sure if this should be in the "other components" or "other pheripherals" section.. sorry.
