hey guy looking to upgrade from amd 7770, have toi give the 7770 some credit its one good preformer for $120.

anyways i was looking a the 7870LE and was wondering if it would work on my PSU.

i3 3220 3.3ghz
8GB 1333mhz ram
232GB HDD 720RPM
450watt antec VP-450
12v1=18A
12v2=18A

i know it says 500watt for rec bt i know for a fact, those are grossly overset. toms hardware in there review of a 7950 siad it uses under peak load, 310watts but they were also using a power hungy system with a beast cpu. i am just running a i3 3220 wich is very power friendly.

More about : amd 7870

realhardtech also suggests 500w, but there is wiggle room. Yes, you
can run the 7870 on the Antec. Sys power draw will be < 310w.
You need 23a on the +12v rail(s), and you have in excess(30a combined) of that.

the 7870LE used around 60-70 more watts then the 7850 but on there 500$ rig, they have a intel 860, i have a i3 3220 which uses about 10 watts less then the 860 and my mobo is a h61 while theres a is a h77 and mines a micro, so my system uses about 10-15 watts less then theres. Which when it adds up to about 230watts and well below the 360W 12V rate, then again idk if my math is right so do you think it will put stress on the PSU
