MSI R7870 HAWK GHz Edition or MSI GTX 660Ti PE OC? Worth extra $50?

Hey guys. I'm going to be building my first custom gaming PC in about 2 weeks. I have all of my parts pretty much chosen except for my graphics card. I'm still trying to decide between the two listed above. I know the 660Ti is better than the 7870, but judging from benchmarks, it's not by much. The 7870 costs $50 more than the 660Ti. Will spending the extra $50 for the 660Ti really give me a huge FPS difference? I will be playing games such as Battlefield 3, Planetside 2, Crysis 3, Guild Wars 2, Arma II, and some more high res games. I will be running an i5 3570k that will be OCed. Is the extra $50 really worth it?

Your answers are much appreciated!

Worth every penny if you intend to play Hawken.

I don't really plan on playing Hawken. Have you heard of the 7870 XT cards though? Someone just mentioned them in another forum and said they are pretty much a 7930 and are much better than a 7870 and 660Ti? Is this true?

Here's a look at the new 7870 LE, a step above the regular 7870:

So a highly overclocked 7870 LE is about on par with the stock 660 Ti (probably closer in price too). That MSI GTX 660 Ti PE/OC is a great card and considerably faster than the stock model. I think you should push your budget as far as you can so you don't have to deal with the regret of not spending that extra 50 bucks.

As a 660ti owner, for $50 less the 7870 Tahiti LE is a great buy. Based on the games you play the 660ti doesn't seem worth it. Yes it's better but I've always thought the 660ti is overpriced. Although prices have come down a bit. There are good choices of 660ti at $280, however Sapphire should have a LE on the market soon for $220ish.

MSI is giving away free copies of Borderlands 2, a PhysX game, on Newegg to help with the value. The only 7870 LE model is one from Sapphire. The 7950's are about the same as the 660 Ti's. Hard to go wrong with the options available.

Be sure to look at benchmarks for your specific games and decide from there. Some cards will do better than others on different games.

How does this offer look to you guys? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

A lot of people have been telling me the 7950 is better overall card. And with an offer like this, it looks irresistible. Especially since I will be buying Crysis 3, I'm saving myself $60.

Buy it. For the price and a free game.... Incredible. You won't regret it and Sapphire is a good company. Nice find.

It looks like that's with the new "Never Settle Reloaded" game bundle. If so, go for it.

Do you know when this bundle will end? Because I won't be able to order it till like the 15th :(  I really don't want this offer to end. On that link you posted it said it was remaining until the end of 2013? Is this true?

The last Never Settle promotion lasted at least a couple months, I think.
