New computer build video looks wierd

Okay so i just built my first pc... woot, successful! i downloaded all the drivers including the video card driver. I have a HIS radeon 7850 2g... I plugged it into my t.v via hdmi, now my issue is. I have a lot of black empty space around my Windows plane and everything looks so condensed it hurts my eyes lookin at it. Is there any way to change it so i can use my entire tv screen?
ps i don't have any way to plug tv into internet until i get an usb wifi thingy. I downloaded all my drivers from my mac to my new pc using a usb drive.so that's the only way i can get internet based items on my new pc.
