Oh I thought you needed more than one because i thought more graphic cards gave you better performance.

Depending on your resolution, you almost certainly only need one decent one :)

Need ? Id be hard pressed to say you "need" a graphics card unless I know what ya goals are.

First - Decide on what monitor you are using. 1920 x 1080 is "HD" standard but many like 2560 x 1600 on the 30" ones.

Second - Figure that games / programs you want to play / run. Look at their performance in published reviews from respected sites.

Third - the number of cards is meaningless unless ya know what cards ya talking about. Are two $200 cards better than one $400 card ?

Generally, two moderate cost cards will always outperform the single GPU top end card at at a much better "bang for the buck". For example:

- Two $205 560 Ti's were 40% faster than one $500 580.

- Two 660 Ti's scored 932.3 fps in hardwareinfo.com's tests ($0.58 per frame) ... where the 680 scored 711.2 at $0.66 per frame
