Hi, i help with IT/AV at a local church/charity. As part of upgrading the system in use, a new pc has been purchased and i'm having problems getting a second screen to work.

The 'old' pc had a graphics card (nvidia, but not sure of exact model at this time) with a vga, dvi and s-video out. We used the vga for the primary output, and a the dvi as the second output, converting to VGA via the adapter/converter shown (the one on the LHS) in the images attached.

The new machine, an Advent DT2410, has an AMD HD6770 graphics card. I have set up the primary monitor using vga fine, however i am unable to add the second screen through the DVI port using either of the adapter blocks i have.

I understand that DVI is digital, whereas VGA is analogue but i thought that looking at the connector on the machine it was identical to the last machine, and also appears to be a DVI-I dual link with the analogue pins present.

Any advice would be appreciated before I purchase a new monitor with DVI input

Thanks!
