Send phone from U.K. to Spain?

I have a relative in Spain who wishes me to source a new mobile for her. I
live in the U.K. I have bought her an Orange 6230i. I have now had the
phone unlocked to accept any SIM from any Network Provider. My question is
will the phone work in Spain with a spanish sourced SIM or will the phone
require further unlocking to make it work with a non-U.K. SIM?

Any advice would be most welcome please.
