hello everyone,

my brother is having a really weird problem with windows 8 pro 64 bit edition. Like when he putting his computer on sleep it doesn't wake up normally. every time after waking up it takes 1-2 restart automatically. :heink:

but the real problem starts from yesterday, every time he shut it down, the screen goes black but the fans and everything remains on. sometimes it stuck on the shutdown screen for 1hr. :o

and if we cut the power next time it takes 10-15 min to boot up ! :pfff:

his specs :
Intel i5 2320
Intel DH61WW mobo
PNY 4GB DDR3 1333MHz memory
seagate 500GB HDD
XFX nvidia 9500GT

because the mobo is pretty low end i think it's not supporting the w8. And we should change it. whats your opinion ?

Make sure your network drivers are up to date. Also try removing any external USB devices.

it windows 8 and your bios. per intel support your mb needs bios 099 to run windows 8 right.

I would first use the clear the cmos jumper and reset the cmos back to factory so that the shutdown issue clears. then use the right bios file for your mb and update the bios. per the notes if you have bios o48 or newer you have to install the o99 bios file first.
