The DDR# doesn't ever have to match up with different components. You could use whatever.

You're system is insanely out of date though to the point that no video card even remotely modern would really help you at all. Either do a full upgrade or make due.

Not really. If you are in America though you could build even a $350 build that destroys your old computer in performance. If you live in an other country I do not know how much things cost, but the same idea applies.
