Let us all know what the scores where. Mainly the HDD score, but all of them would be cool!

I'm not a big person to use benchmark programs like this, but I figured that if it was new then I would try it!

There's a lot of people with scores up around 15000 marks for the HDD. The only way I figure that is a RAID or high end SCSI drive ...

Thanks for your scores!

You are welcome!

It's obvious that something is different about those systems that skewed the results. I did notice that the majority of them were overclocked. Ot perhaps there is a weakness in the program that allows user manipulation of the final score.

I don't think even SCSI drives in a RAID configuration could account for that great a discrepancy.

If you have a RAID and a single drive in your system, PCMark will by default benchmark the single drive, not the RAID. I was wondering why my RAID 0 was getting 400 points.

My normal overclock (CPU@155MHz, RAM@116MHz)

CPU&Mem @ 133MHz

This shows slower memory getting a better score. I posted in the MadOnion forum about it, we'll see what is said.

Yeah the silly benchmark did not even know what to do with my array, all's I get is hdd n/a. Everyother benchmark runs fine. I take it you have to buy this program to enable testing on specific drives/arrays othe rthan the one your OS resides on?

It's not what they tell you, its what they don't tell you!

I wouldn't doubt it! I don't even like the 3dMark that they have. They tell you nothing, but I thought I would see what everyone was getting for scores so I knew where I stood.

Anyways, as far as I'm concerned this benchmark isn't much better then SiSoft Sandra. What do you guys think?

If you are looking for benchmarking tools, take a look at this website that camieabz found. There's enough stuff here to keep someone busy for quite a while!

Here is my Athlon 1.3 with no OC, at first I had write-back cache on my SCSI controller disabled, and didn't care for those benchmarks. So, I enabled write-back caching and only a little improvement.

Lars, what is the advantage/disadvatage of enabling/disabling write-back cache? I know write-back has better performance than write-through, but in this case I didn't see much improvement. I don't know much about benchmarking to say whether this was a good tool or not. If you have a good link on improving performance for SCSI HDD's let me know. Thanks.

COMMENT: Just really good drives raided togeather .. should do it asuming your config and some tweaking... NOTE: any thing running on the pci bus effects the avail bandwith for your IDE... In you bios make sure delayed transaction is disabled can makea big diffrence...Your os plays a role two... your file system on your harddrive etc.. ...

You think your numbers are crappy, I was wondering the same thing and my HDD's are SCSI. Everything at stock speed
