Help with liteon 24103s..

Just got myself a Liteon 24103s CDwriter and installed it immediately. It runs and burns beautifully, but whenever I connect(using dial-up networking) to the net, my screen and cpu freezes. Once it happens there's nothing i can do but reboot.
I heard there could be an IRQ conflict between my CDrom and modem, but i'm at a total lost as to wat to do. I reinstalled my old CDrom and everything works fine.
I'm using Win 98, p!!! 800 chip, 2 HDDs, award BIOS AZZA 815EX Mboard...

try putting your modem in a different pci slot .. if not being used also disable your com ports (serial ports) this will free the irq's for them

I just identified the problem. If i connect the CDwriter to the slave connector of the IDE cable it works fine. So now i have 2 CDroms, the CDwriter connected to slave but configured(jumper) as master, and the other as slave. ^^
