Weird questions...but I'm building a new pc and I'm shopping for a burner to match all my other components. Everything is black...case, floppy etc...but I am having a really hard time finding a black burner. I've found a bunch of old ones on e-bay but would prefer something new. Any suggestions? Please help!!! Thanks in advance.

Here's a page of manufacturers selling cd writers with black faceplates, at the great Newegg.com. I'd go for a Lite-On. Great stuff...

Ha!Ha!Haaa!
Good luck with that one!

Sorry, I just could not resist.
I had/still have this problem, not with burner though, but with finding a black DVD.
I had a sony burner that was black & sexy but it went kaka koko and I got a new white Memorex instead.

Well, anyways...Tips & tricks of how to paint the "front" you´ll find here:

Painting it yourself isn't too bad of an idea.

I would dip your bezel into some fancy black dye. It's much more durable than paint. Hard part is finding the dye cheap. But once you find it, you can do plenty of other bezels. In fact...I just order some samples, one of a red laquer called Mircrostop (I bet that would look BITCHIN with an all black case), and a black plastic coat called Microtex. I will let you guys know how they turn out (should arrive within a week).

If I don't get my 90THz AMD Quadraplex system soon, I'm afraid I may just combust right here.
