Thosman - Wireless encryption is needed and there is no dual thought in it. As WEP is not outdated, you may consider using WPA or WPA2 with algorithm type as TKIP and AES. You may strengthen your passkey in 64 bit or 128 bit format.
To do this, you gotta login to your router's page and then check under the wireless tab, which would give you the options to encrypt it.
