If i take a HD from one PC to another,Will it be compatible? Is there Mobo issues that might be conflicting? Ok say you stay with all Perifrials,but change the Mobo?Also??? What do they mean by IDE 100 compliant Cables?They say 66,with 100 compliant???Any takers??

ATA66 cables are the same as the ones used for ATA100. Esentially they work with ATA100 and lower standards.

Theoretically, it should work. Your OS should adapt to the new changes and ask you for whatever drivers are necessary. However, it's recommended that you start off with a fresh drive every time you change something like a motherboard or move a drive to a new system.

There is no problem moving drives from one machine to another. If you plan on booting winblows from the disk I would highly suggest you do a fresh install!

THE CABLES ARE DIFFRENT!!!! ATA 33/66 only has 40 wires in the cable... where as ata 100 requires 80 wires... It will work with eather but to get you ata 100 must be the 80 wire cable.............
