Write error via power supply??

I have a lousy stinking Compaq system with a Celeron 600, 194 mgs ram, 20 gb hd, plextor 16/10/40 writer. When I try to write audio cd's I often get blue screen that says error writing to drive C. Someone suggested heat issue so I opened up my tower and I have tried both Nero 5.5 and Roxio 5 basic still have the problem. My power supply is only 145 watts. Could this be the problem? Looking for suggestions. Help!!!

dont know if that is your problem but that power supply is absolutely pitiful.

i went to the tomshardware forums and all i got was this lousy signature.
