I have the old PV-HS2000, no Hard Drive upgrade yet . . . I will be
doing the HD change after further study and was curious if at that time
I could do something to enhance the 30 sec skip mode and avoid the
commercials with the 25Khz signal sent. I have the new SonicBlue remote
with this button.

More about : hs2000 mod skip

What 25KHz signal would that be?

CA is based on a complex algorithim. The 3Ks software/file structure
does not support CA. Replays have dozens of remote enhancements. XX +
skip skips XX minutes. Same with revue. XX last jumps to the xx minute
of the program. There are many more.
