Hey I was wondering what graphic card is better and why the geforce 7800gs (my current one) or the geforce 9400 GT. I know the 9400gt seems better but when I looked it up online (http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/132) The memory interface on the 7800gs was higher but is that a good thing? the Htz are different.
If possible simple reasons why one is better and how the different things affect the card.
-Thanks, Jordan

These video cards are 5-6 years old. Are you aware of this ? Today any of those differences doesn't make any difference anymore, as software is more demanding and neither of this alternatives is likely to be good enough.

What do you use your PC for ?

When I read it I was scratching my head to. Why would you be thinking about buying a 9400gt unless you have been in a coma for 5 years and just woke up ready to play some games?

The 7800 GS is superior to the 9400 GT, at least in raw performance. The 9400 GT is newer and so supports a newer shader model and DirectX 10.

Oh I should have said this in the first post; I am getting the card for free from my uncle but I would have to ship it here for like 20 bucks so I was wondering if it was worth it or not

For $20 you can get better cards if you order from newegg.com

Like people have mentioned, those cards are really old and can't handle games of today.

In that case a Radeon HD 7750 is probably the best option.

Decent, cheap PSU. Probably the best option in that price range.
