Gtx 550 ti BF3 @ 720p frame rates prob?

i Have core 2 duo e6750 @ 2.66GHz
6gigs ddr2 ram
500w PSU with 30 amps ( bought last night )

And will buy GTX 550 ti to play bf3 online medium to high 1280 x 1024 or 720p on medium to high settings so will i get about ~40 FPS?

And can GTX 550 ti cant reach its full capacity due pcie x16 1.0 or pcie x 16 has enough bandwidth rate for gtx 550ti?

2 have same specs as mine
1 has dual core @ 2.5 or 2.45

will we be fine too on BF3 online?

If anything your bottleneck will be with your processor and maybe your RAM

40 FPS is just fine for your card.
i wouldn't expect a 550ti to be a lot more better than that.
ofcourse your cpu isn't top of the line but not as bad as people in this forum will have u believe
and for ram. u stil have ddr2 ram!!!!
ddr3 is almost at it's end!
i say u wait until end of this year or next year start and get a new cpu+mobo.
by that time 4th gen i series and ddr4 will be out.
and for the orignal question your card is fine that is the performance it was ment to give. considering a few bottlenecks u have.

and for your frinds online, they wont get best performance but should be playable.
and if possible tell them to go for
hd7770 or 650ti

I had a 2.66 Core 2 Duo, 6770 (same tier as the 550 ti), and 4GB of RAM. It was unplayable at 1080, nonstop slideshow.

You might be OK at 1024 or 720.

bf3 is heavily cpu dependent... so the bottleneck is that old e6750, not your 550ti.

you need a cpu upgrade... not a gpu upgrade.
