I have recently purchase a Panasonic PV-HS2000. I have not actually
received it yet, but I am wondering...

Is there anyway to replace the modem with a network card, so it will
download the updates via the web? I have googled and done a quick scan
of this group and did not find anything. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

No. But you can connect the modem to a Linux server to intercept the
modem and connect via the web. Search the Replay forum on avsforum.com.
