What is the difference between 4.1 sound and 5.1 sound??

4.1 = 2 front 2 rear speakers and a sub-woofer 5.1 = 2 front 2 rear and a center channel speaker as well as a sub-woofer

5.1 sound cards can also do 4.1 output, so don't think that you have to do one or the other.
