Looking to upgrade GPU and I'm not sure if my motherboard will support it.

Hello, I've been looking at the Radeon HD 7850 and 7870 series and I'm wondering if my motherboard will support these cards.

My motherboard - http://www.asus.com/Motherboard/M4A87TD_EVO/#specifications

7850 I'm looking at - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202004

7870 I'm looking at - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202024

A thing I notice right away is the PCIe port is 3.0 on the cards and my MB supports 2.0

I just need to know if I'll need to upgrade my MB to use these cards.

Thank you for your time

PCI-E 3.0 Graphics cards are compatible with their 2.0 predecessors so it'll work fine. The 7850 only needs 1 PCI-E 6 pin connector while the 7870 needs 2 so make sure your power supply has enough PCI-E 6 pin connectors.
