Hi guys I just recently build my first p.c ever with no help just reading up and surfing threw YouTube. My build consist of gigabyte z77,i5 3570k cpu, 120 gb ssd ,2 terabyte hhd, 32gb of ram, and msi Radeon 7970. I went to bench mark it in 3dmark 11 on low it gives me 60 fps on ultra about 20 fps. I'm trying o play farcry 3 and its so laggy. This is the website that started me off in building p.c I hope you guys could really help me thanks. Oh and windows 8 os.

3dmark11 and Far Cry 3 are VERY demanding. Just one 7970 is insufficient at some settings. Try lowering the some of the settings in Far Cry 3

What fps are you getting in FC3? "Lag" is a very subjective term.

about 20 fps I have no idea m not bottlenecking, and lag is an understatement lol I think I can run better fps off of intel 4000

Farcry3 is just really unoptimized.
It stutters like a nervous hooker on anybody's pc.

Maybe a driver update and turning off the MSAA will improve Far Cry 3 performance.

Make sure you turn off CPU chewing applications like web browsing for maximum frame-rate.

and check that your clocks arent lowered while benchmarking / testing

run a 3dmark11 performance test and post ur scores,

the gpu should be around 7000-8000

download something like gpuz and monitor your clock rates, go to a game / benchmarking software and see if they are in "rest" ( very low )
or working normally
