Actually, the GHz Editions do not have the same headroom as the regular 7970s. They have higher-binned parts that usually achieve higher than average overclocks for the 7970. Furthermore, even at stock, they also have two differences from the regular 7970s besides reference core clock and those are higher memory clocks and a Turbo Boost feature.
