I have a plan...

I just made a new build that i'm really happy with. My old gaming desktop i was thinking of doing some minimal upgrading to so i can have two computers around for LAN parties. Only two things are really viable at this point to squeeze some extra life out of it without spending too much money. OCing my old Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16GHz Wolfdale 45 nm and buying the best video card my Gigabyte Technology EP43-DS3L (Socket 775) can slot onto it as well as fitting into my new build.

Why you might ask i want to get the best GPU i can fit on it? I'm thinking of returning my GTX 660 TI and getting whatever is the best card that'll fit in the old desktop will go into my new gaming desktop first. After a year or so, supposedly the next gen of vid cards will be out and it'll be so awesome it'll make me feel dumb about buying the 660 TI that wont fit into my old desktop. So then i'll buy that new awesome sauce card and shove the one i just bought into my old desktop.

Is my logic solid? Im hoping to squeeze a coupla more years out of this old girl, thats served me well for the past 5 years rather than sending it off to pasture (giving it away). My old care is a GTX 260 in case youre wondering.
