first what is the brand of your powersupply because prebuilt PCs generally have crappy ones, if your powersupply isn't from a known brand (corsair, antec, seasonic etc.) it can be risky to pick a new GPU like the 6850. a 7770/650ti would be better in that case since it has a lesser power consumption, and if your PSU really sucks you should go with a 640gt/7750

Thanks to all of you who has responded to my question . Dont worry abt my power supply it is indeed a good one ,corsair cx500. My first question was whether the hd6850 will be bottlenecked by my core2duo , which was answered by "haider95"(again thanks to him). Now about the second question whether upgrading to a core2quad Q8400 will remove the bottleneck for gtx 560 ti or hd 6850 ? I m not particularly interested in hd7770 or gtx 650 ti because at that price point i can buy above mentioned cards. So whether upgrading to a core2quad q8400 is a wiser choice or not ? If it is not a wiser choice then my core2duo will not create any bottleneck for hd 7770 or gtx 650 ti ?
