Stuttering with gtx 670

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me, I recently built myself a gaming computer and I have noticed that I get stuttering on my games. It isn't that noticeable on some but on others it is much more noticeable. It isn't audio stuttering, just video.

Things I have tried so far; V-Sync On/Off/Adaptive, Ambient Occlusion Off/On, Updated all BIOS/Drivers, tried a different KB/Mouse, uninstalled/reinstalled drivers.

Specs:
Windows 7 64 bit
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50GHz
12 gb ram
GeForce GTX 670 (OC'ed out the box)
Asus P8Z77-V PRO
1.5 TB HDD

If anyone could help it would be much appreciated :).

More about stuttering
  1. If you need any more information just let me know because I really want to try and fix this :)
  2. Which games?

All of them. Well all of the ones I have tested it on so far (Crysis 3 Beta, Battlefield 3, Shogun 2, Medieval Warfare).
  4. Interesting. Did you try reverting the global tab in the control panel to defaults?

Sorry for being a noob about this but by that do you mean pressing "restore" on the nvidia control panel? Just want to double check.
If you do mean that, the answer is no I haven't.
  6. Just incase you did mean that, I have tried it and it hasn't made a difference.
  7. Can you describe the stuttering, and what settings you are using? A single 670 is not going to have a good time on any of the games you listed if you set it to max.

All of the games I have listed I am playing on preset high settings at the moment. The stutter seems to persist no matter what the settings are. I honestly cannot describe the stuttering, it happens every second or so and it seems like there is an almost unnoticeable pause in the frames.
  9. You wouldn't happen to have some background apps running, stealing away resources, such as a virus scanner scanning at the same time you are playing. Perhaps a backup process. One second stutters are often from other parts of the system.
  10. I did actually check for this earlier and it turned out that hamachi was taking up 12% CPU usage. After uninstalling the problem continued.
  11. Has anyone else got any ideas? I will try and provide as much information as I can.
  12. If it is anything important, when using vsync my frames seem to fluctuate from 61-57. I believe I have seen the stutter happen when the frames drop bellow 60.
  13. Crysis3 beta stutters on everyone pc.I was getting BF3 stuttering with the current beta.So i went back to .70whql to fix it.I don't know about the other 2 games.

Well I will try going back to previous drivers when I get back from work. I don't think it will work though since the current drivers and the beta drivers are causing the same problems for me.

Have you capped your BF3 fps to 60?
  17. How do I check? Would this also be the case with the other games? Without vsync I get 60-150 fps on bf3, but the screen tearing and stuttering is so horrendous I have to put vsync on.
  18. UPDATE:

After putting in my gtx 560 ti, I still got stuttering. It seems like something else is the problem.
