Multi (4) Monitor Support

Hey guys/girls,
,
I am using a Dell Precision T5400, with a Quadro FX4600, running two displays, on a resolution of 1680x1050.
I would lke to upgrade to 4 monitors, with a resolution of 1920x1080.
As far as I understand, after doing some research, I think that the T5400 won't support SLI.
I have two options, either get an nvidia Geforce 680, or ATI 7970, not sure which one would be better for my needs.
I am not running games, mainly monitoring, watching moving, and IDE development with many output screens.

Appreciate if you can guide me on which way to go, or if there are any better options.

Thanks,

Dan

There are lots of cards that would suit your needs. On the nvidia 660ti's, 670's or 680's would work. On the AMD side 7850's, 7870's, 7950's or 7970's would work. You just have to check each cards spec's.

Hi,

Thanks for your quick reply.

Just forgot to mention that I will be running Linux. Would that make any difference?

Cheers,

Dan
