LMAO, Yeah, I don't want to kill my $$$ limit anymore..as much as it is im going High Quality as it is for all my other parts.. I was thinking in the line of 9000 rpm.... something like that.. But i guess by the time they make an 80GB drive it would be no where near June.

Don't worry too much about hard disk performance if you have lots of RAM. With enough RAM, everything you use in a Windows session will be cached to RAM. You can then hiberate your computer everyday, so it will be always fast.

AMD technology + Intel technology = Intel/AMD Pentathlon IV; the ULTIMATE PC processor

Hey Wappaaga thanks a TON...that was amazingly helpfull..

i will only have One 100gb Maxtor HD... so i guess i can't use Raid unless i get another HD

"As short as three years ago, any RAM amount over 64MB was thought to be an overkill, to say the least" LOLOLOLOLOLOL 64MB HAHAHA
i remember when my dad bought another 8mb of memory! and i thought the system was amazing HAHAH

rob, 10000rpm or greater IDE drives will be a little way away yet.
manufacturers have very slim profit margins on ide drives, and there are many factors against the introduction of 10k rpm IDE drives.

eventually we will see them, but not for at least another year.

so the way to go now is RAID or SCSI.
