Could some of you with experience in the field recommend a case for me based on performance and price(most economical) I plan to run a Gigabyte Ga-7VRXP mainboard (KT333 chipset) and an athlon xp 2100+ CPU with 512 MB of DDR ram and want to make sure I can minimize overheating issues...also if any of you have any cooling recommendations I would be happy to take them as well...I've been out of the field for far too long. Thank you
How many drive bays do you need? And do you prefer a removable motherboard tray? Would you like a door on the front? Steel or aluminum? Full tower, mid-tower, mini? Do you want a particular color, or is standard beige okay?
Price range? 0-???
Shop around over at New Egg and see if you see something you like.
I'm partial toward the Antec and the Enermax cases, personally.
I bought an Antec Workstation Tower and love it. Best Buy seems to put a rebate on it quite a bit. They sell it for $99.99 everyday, I think. After a $20 rebate(which i did send in and get back, heh), I got that baby for $79 + tax. So probably paid about $88. But this model comes with 2 antec fans. I went ahead and purchased a 3rd fan.
This is definitely taller than the standard cases with a good amount of room. I'm running an Athlon 1600+ OC'd, 512MB PC2400 DDR, Radeon 7500 with 2 monitors, Gigabyte 7VTXH motherboard, etc.
I believe I am always running under 50 degrees C. Somewhere between 45 and 48 degrees.
I love buying stuff off the internet and especially newegg.com seems good. But if you include rebates from time to time the internet can't touch some prices.
If you buy a pre-packaged pc, shame on you
