I have my Replay 5040 (now upgraded) connected through a Ugate gateway,
which connects to a cable modem. I had the cable modem upgraded to a
version 2.0 from a 1.0. I have had problems with the network after the
connection. However, I can connect -- my computer, for instance, just
downloads slow. The Replay gets to "checking for new channels" and then
reboots. Any idea as to what this would be?

I should also say that I've rebooted the Replay many times (either pulling
the plug or using the regular reboot) and I've even plugged the Replay
directly into the cable modem (which acts as a server).

Acts as a server? A cable modum is usually jutr a bridge (converts
between media, such as ethernet to DOCSIS). You'd actually be getting
your ISP's servers.

I have no idea what the problem is. I can ping the Replay; I can have it
connect to the DHCP server (in this case, my Ugate gateway); I can have it
check the network; the connection works until "getting new channels" then
the Replay reboots. There are no error messages.

I ended up hitting 243 zones, then clearing the guide, then 243 zones
checking for software updates, then net connect. This worked!
