Full Screen Games Isseues

Hello,
I'm here because I've a problem with my MSI GeForce GTX 660.
When I play any game at full screen I get a problem that I can't describe.
Basically while I play for example Battlefield 3, when I move the view around, the screen is like divided in orizontal chunks and they are not synchronized.
I made a video with my phone:

This happens only when I play in 1080p full-screen mode, either in low or in ultra.
But it doesn't happen if I play in 1080p windowed mode with ultra settings.

Can anyone help me, please? It would be very much appreciated.

  1. Intel core i5 2500k @ 3.3Ghz
MSI GeForce GTX 660 Twin Frozr III 2GB OC
    Gigabyte Z68P-DS3
  2. Its called vertical tearing, and it happens regardless of your setup or game. It happens because your graphics card draws a frame in the middle of the monitor refreshing, so theres a hiccup when the next one is displayed.

Only way to get rid of it is to turn on vsync, which induces massive input lag.
  3. Thank you!
This is due to the gpu?
