I needed to reinstall windows on my laptop, but I had to recover some files from the hard drive, so I took the hard drive out and connected it to my desktop PC. I installed the windows on the hard drive using my desktop PC too, because the laptops DVD ROM doesn't work anymore. I successfully installed windows on it, everything worked. I put the hard drive back in the laptop, booted the laptop and it popped up a BSOD saying:

Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK/F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

Technical information:
***STOP 0x00000073(OXFC8D3640), 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000

What do I do now to get the hard drive working on my laptop?

Hi :)

LOLLLLL you CANNOT install windows on a PC then expect it to work in a laptop...it just wont work that way...as you have learned...

You MUST install windows on the HARDWARE its going to run on...i.e the laptop...

All the best Brett :)
