Connecting to monitor

Hi i just built my new gaming desktop and noticed that on the back of the tower it has a vga and hdmi slot from the motherboard and a hdmi port from my graohics card (xfx radeon hd 7850) what do i do, also i have a monitor which only connects by vgi so how would i get hdmi to that? Thanks

Since you have a dedicated GPU, you need to plug in the monitor to the video card. And you shouldnt just have a HDMI port on your card. You should have dual link DVI, HDMI, and displayport. Youll need an adapter to get it to work.

My monitor onky has a vga port and the graphics card has whatever slots it has along with the hdmi port, how do i connect the hdmi fromnthe graphics card to the monitor vga

I linked it above. You need a HDMI-VGA adapter. If your CPU has interested graphics on it. You'll be able to use that until you can get a adapter.
