Okay, I got an eDIO SC1938 sound card and I'm running WinXP. My other soundcard is a Conexant Riptide connected to my modem. XP detected my sound card and I installed the updated drivers from the Windows Update screen, rebooted and what-not, but still no sound. I have tried disabling my Riptide and that didn't work.
When I installed the sound card, I took the cable off that ran from the Riptide soundcard up to the output/input jacks (where the speakers would be plugged in) to get it out of the way (I still have it if I need to put it back). I hooked the cable from the CD Audio In jack (on the soundcard) to the CD Audio Out on the CD-ROM.
Any suggestions? Should I pull the modem out (I am networked to another computer I can use for internet access if needed)? I'm not showing any incompatability issues, and I configured the Audio tab under sounds to use the soundcard (and clicked the use only default device box)...
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
