Dish311 reciever(modifications)

I have a old Dish311 receiver laying around and i was wondering if its possible to remove the tv card and connect it to my pc. Can anyone give me any recommendation on what i can do with old Dish 311 receiver? Is it possible to hack the device and load a open source firmware such as XMBC?

I would like to remove the capture card and install it into my pc, so i can have capture card out of the device? Can anyone let me know if this is possible.
