I plan on building a super computer for essentially everything from 3d design to gaming. Because of the fact that I know gaming is not designed to take advantage of SLI I know that the fewer the high end cards the better. But because I use 3D's max and graphic design it will use SLI to it's advantage.

More about : gtx 680 gtx 690

A super computer doesn't run gaming graphics cards. you really should use the professional series graphics cards if you are using this for graphic design.
