I have an "asus p5g41t-m lx3" mobo. i want to buy a new amd hd 5570 or 6570 graphics card. i have a 1.1 pcie*16 slot. will the new graphics cards be compatable with my mobo. i also have a 250 watt PSU, will this be enough for the above mentioned gfx's, if not please suggest other gfx. iam also planing to buy a generic psu 400watt(iball,intexor other cheaper ones) my budget is 4500rs
please someone help me out!!!!!

thankx in advance!!

Solution
ya the gpu is backward compatible

its not how many watts your psu has...its howmany amps you have on the 12v rail

ive seen 500w psu's that cant run a gpu cuz it has only 18a

also if its a cheap psu its probably only putting out 180w

firstly, dont buy a generic psu. if you get a poor quality psu, you could fry your entire system.

as far as the graphics card goes, a 6570 is only a good choice for a HTPC, not for gaming. i would recommend at least a 6670, preferably a 7750 if you are gaming. and any of those will work in your pci-e slot.

MY psu says output +12v == / 14A,
250WMAX +5v ==/ 25A +5VSB == / 2A peak 2.5A
+3.3v == / 18A
+5V & +3.3V 165W MAX. +5V & +12V 218W MAX

iAM A NOOB at this and cant understand anything

will this be enough for the 5570 or 6570. or should i upgrade it

ive been building computers for 20 years and ive seen what a cheap psu can do. the electricity runs through the whole system and fries EVERY component.

where are you located?
whats 4500rs in american currency?
what games do you play and at what resolution?

Iam from india and 4500 rs is aproximately 90-100$

Iam not a hardcore gamer, at present i cant run crysis 3,mw2,run etc because the mobo has a intel express g41 chipset.
i just want to play latest games like crysis 3,mw2,run ,gta 4 etc without any lag. i dont mind if the resolution low.

is 4500rs your budget for the PSU? Or both the Card and PSU?
You won't even get a decent graphic card in that much budget, forget getting both.
But you might get a decent PSU like Seasonic S12 II 520W.
