I would like to replace my GEFORCE GT540 CUDA with simplier one

Currently I have a Acer TimelineX 3830TG with GEFORCE GT540M CUDA 2gb. I am not really using this 2gb of graphical card. I am not playing any games. I tried to install Ubuntu on my laptop but it worked horrible. I hardly could open something. Then i found out that my my graphical card is not working with ubuntu or something. i did not really get it. anyways it messed up. So I wonder if I replace my graphical card to something simpler so I can at least use Linux on my PC.

I will be looking forward to reading any comments. Please help me.

  1. i am terribly sorry for you....unfortunately you cannot change your GPU.

you can at best download the drivers for your GPU from nvidia website and see if that works.

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux-display-ia32-310.32-driver.html (32 bit)
