Im going from two 5850's in xfire to his 7970 ghz ed. i am new to this whole deal and i wanted to know if there is someting i need to do when changing the cards out.
also what is the best driver out for the 7970ghz ed and what is the latest version of catalyst control center; were should i go to get these?

Performance-wise, the best driver for the 7970 is 12.11 beta 4, but 13.1 (or 13.2 beta) drivers aren't much slower.

Download (but do not install) the latest drivers from AMD. Uninstall your existing drivers. Shut down, turn your PSU switch off, then open your PC to remove the existing cards and install the new one. Remember to turn the PSU switch back on. Power on, then install the new drivers you downloaded. Enjoy your PC!
