Red/Black Stripes on Screen at times

I have an HP Pavilion dv9820us laptop. It recently started getting some red and black stripes that kind of shimmer/move on the screen at random times. When I start my laptop the whole screen has red and black stripes running vertically on the screen for a few seconds. Also if I highlight something in a program, my bookkeeping software, for example, it will be red and black striped instead of the usual blue. Or different places on the internet on photos around people or on other graphics it will be like that.

Has anyone seen this before or have any idea what might be causing it?

I'm still having this problem. I think it must be a something to do with the connection between the laptop base and laptop screen. This seems to be getting worse on my laptop. The red only goes away if I tilt the screen at a particular angle.

Any ideas?
