How do you downrank the priority of folders in a directory when sorting them?

I am trying to let folders and files mix when I sort by date, but I get folders on top and files bottom.

Any help would be appreciated.

windows sorts by folder, and then by files. When organizing it makes things much simpler because you generally know where to look for things.
If you want things to mix then you should have gone with Mac, as it sorts things in the way you are looking for, but while it sounds like a good idea I have generally found it much harder to organize things on OSX than in Win7... but maybe that is just me.

Hmm.. In WinXP you could mix folders and files. That's how I had my browser download folder. That way I always had the newest downloads first. Mac is completely out of the question. I've been using windows for 17 years now and honestly think Mac is for people who got brainwashed by a flashy design.

If anything I should go Linux, I just never seem to be able to get started on it, but enough off-topic..

The question is still unanswered. It has to be possible to force windows 7 to do this somehow.
