Hello. I have a question on how to tell if a LCD is damaged. I have a new Dell 1901 19" flat panel. The other day, while the monitor was hooked up to a laptop, the power cord connector (that plugs into the back of the laptop) touched a USB pin and arced. This caused smoke to come rolling out of the laptop and the typical burning electronics smell. Amazingly the laptop still works fine. I am just wondering if I could have damaged my monitor? The monitor plug is right by the power plug and USB connector. My monitor does look like it has 2 small dead pixels by one corner, but I have read this is normal for LCD's to have. The monitor doesn't appear to be dim or flicker. How sensative are LCD's and could the short have done any damage? Thanks for any help
