Printers without ink/toner !!!

I believe one of my friends is kidding to tell that there are printers just released working with no need for ink/toner.
I don't believe him what about you ?.

I used to expect everything and anything about TECH.

All I can think of is the heat-based printers they use to print receipts at grocery stores but thats not a new tech.

For the average user, the only printer that I know of that does not require any ink are thermal printers. But they do need special "thermal" paper.
