AMD Driver Install Failed

Hello,
I recently purchased an Asus Radeon HD 7770 2GB GDDR5. I uninstalled the old 6450 I had installed, and ensured I had connected the 6 pin connector.

However whenever I attempt to install drivers for the card, it constantly fails upon installing the display drivers and audio drivers. I have uninstalled all old drivers for the 6450 using Catalyst's uninstall feature to ensure there are no clashes.

whenever I see a response it is usually very long and tedious, and I have tried many different methods such as installing through device manager, however that always tells me the device is 'already in use', even if there are no other programs open.

I'd appreciate any help as I'm quite new to this, and if it needs a long method to fix it, please try and make it as simple as possible for me.

Thanks!

There appears to be some registry errors clashing with the new driver installation. Possibly from a bad uninstall. I would do this.
With the old card in, uninstall the gfx driver again.
Run CCleaner to rid the system of junk files and registry errors. http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
Boot to safe mode and run Driver Sweeper. http://www.techspot.com/downloads/4266-driver-sweeper.html
Have it remove any Nvidia, AMD, and ATI graphic driver remnants it finds.
Install the new card and boot up. Install the latest driver for your card and O/S. http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/downloads.aspx
