Built in microphone control in windows 7

I want to capture audio input from YouTube. I cannot do so without also capturing ambient sound in the room, because the built-in mic captures and records the ambient sounds. If I disable the built-in mic, the audio capture software doesn't work. Is it possible to mute the internal mic without disabling the sound card entirely?

Hello. I am not the person who began this thread. I disable the internal mic on my mother's laptop and I want to undo it, but I have not found it to enable/re-install it. What should I do.
