HD 6870 high temp problem

my Sapphire HD 6870 was working cool till now, running at a 38-39°C idle,
same temperatures while playing videos...suddenly it started getting warm
and warmer...didn´t care if reached 40 or even 42°C, but alarmed when
reached 46°C while doing nothing...first guesses, worn thermal paste or
power supply issues, what else could be?

The temps you have listed are normal and fine. Temperatures in the 80 C and above range should raise a brow of concern.
