Asus gtx 670 crashing

i just recently got an asus gtx 670 to replace my gtx 550 ti and i am seeing amost no performance increase. the 670 also crashes after running heaven 4.0 for about 5 min forcing me to hard restart the system. i have uninstalled old drivers, used a driver sweeper and installed new driver.

which CPU do you have? its most likely a bottleneck...
Also did you OC your 670?
