I have a question or two about this case. In case (no pun intended) you are not sure what case I am talking about, it is the one that these guys http://www.xdream-machines.com/ are selling with their systems. I like the case a lot, and I have found a lot of places that are selling them, but some of the pictures concern me a bit. If you look here http://www.yeongyang.com/yahoo/YY-0221pic.htm , you can follow along. The picture from behind the case, where the motherboard will have it's port sticking out, seems a bit "off." In my experience, the punch-out tabs for stuff like USB and printer ports, are always against the wall that the mobo sits on. In this pic, it looks like there is a 2 or 3 inch gap between the wall, and the port holes. Anyone know how this works out?
Oh yeah.... is this case TOO big? I will not be moving it a lot, and I like the potential it has for customization. Thanks a lot for any tips, input, and ideas.
This is a great case. My friend Have a similar one(older model from the same company). He brought about 2 years ago. The newer case looks a lot better than the one my friend have.
Personal opinion, that thing should be in the ugly cases competition and in the army rejects sub category with that color. Plus it will be 80% empty all the time since no normal people have enough toys at home to fill that "thing", unless you got 8 hard drives you want to use, and 6 cd-rom type of devices (cdrw, dvd, whatever. or less cd-rom and add more hard drives.. weeeeee).
Plus:
With some mod it can be a small fridge for a case of beer.
Can take it with you doing recon mission in some jungle and not get noticed.
It will hold those ever so popular "5 foot" PCI cards we all use at home lately.
It will give you the last push to buy a big useless SUV to carry the big useless PC case around.
Minus:
Everything you don't see in the plus.
For real, what are you thinking?
and btw the plate isn't in it so I don't know where you see the USB in there, they come with two kinds of plates in case you have built in sound motherboard or not.

The big hole gets filled with a backplate which has holes for the onboard ports. The punchouts are for extra ports, such as if you add a card for extra parallel/serial ports, or to add an external connection for an onboard SCSI controller. The case is just about the perfect size for the floor, but putting it there makes it a little hard to work on if you like to tweak a lot.
