Plz help me running dvd rom

hi
i have a hp dv2500 laptop and i am running windows 7 for this product. problem is, it's dvd rom icon doesnt show up in my computer . and dvd doesnt work. how can i solve this issue

Start>Control panel>device manager see if anything has an exclamation mark.

And yeah, try the driver.
