More about possible upgrade 7850
  1. What's the rest of your PC specs? What resolution do you game on?
  2. i7 2600k
    crucial m4 128
    wd green 500gig
    mobo intel dz68db
    550wt power supply
    1080p resolution.

i know mobo isnt the best. but i not really worried about upgrading it unless there is something i dont know
  3. If you want to turn on more eye candy graphics settings and get better frame rates, then get a faster card. That is, if you think the 7850 isn't enough.

What psu is that? Telling us 550W really doesn't do much...

Why return it if your happy with it keep it if not the Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 and the AMD Radeon HD 7950. They offer performance that is nearly as good as that of the high-end models, but at a more modest price. If you stick with a 1080p or 1920 by 1200 display with one of these cards, you should be in good shape.
  5. Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus 500w Power Supply

sorry its only 500 not 550.

in terms of fidelity its fine.. i guess if anything more of a future-proof card.. i just dont have much of a reference to be sure.. i have more money and i am willing to allocate it to the gfx. i just dont know if the process it worth it or if the money will do better in another aspect of my pc.

i also have 8g of gskill 1600. for the wondering
  6. If you want to spend $400, I would suggest you get a better psu and a 7950 like bigcyco1 recommended.

    PSU recommendations:

    SeaSonic G 550
    XFX Pro Series 550W
    Antec High Current Gamer 620M
    Corsair TX650 V2
    SeaSonic S12II 620
    XFX Core Edition 650

I would keep the 7850 card but then again I'm sure that I would buy another SSD and another Mechanical hard drive
But what the question is what are you using to cool your CPU? If you are air cooling then I would get a H100i or H80i

do YOU think that sending the 7850 back and getting a 670, 7950 or w/e will be worth it. cause if im to get a 670 i should just get a 680... and vice versa

I'd understand your reason but what about back-up storage options just in case the HDD fails
